Frequently Asked Questions about Individual (Non-Member) Subscriptions

1. Will I receive a password? May I share my password with friends, or is use limited solely to me?

   Yes, during the subscription activation process, you will set up you own user name and password. You are the only one licensed to use this password.

2. What if I forget my password?

   We have instructions for what to do if you forget your user name or your password. Details about how to do this will be included as part of the subscription process.

3. Why should I activate my Individual (Non-Member) electronic subscription?

   Individual (Non-Member) Subscribers have access to tables of contents, abstracts, full text searching, full text display, document delivery, PDFs, links to Medline and GenBank, future tables of contents. They also have the advantage of having password access to Obstetrics & Gynecology Online from any computer connected to the Internet.

4. How can I tell if my institution has subscribed? How do I get my institution to subscribe?

   If your institution has a paper subscription, it will be eligible to have an electronic version of the journal as well. In so doing, you as a patron will automatically have access to the tables of contents, abstracts, full-text searching, full text and PDF displays, Medline and GenBank links, and future tables of contents. You'll also see a button at the top of the page confirming you're signed in as part of an institution.

   If your institution does not have a paper subscription, it cannot get an electronic version of Obstetrics & Gynecology Online. If you would like to have an institutional subscription, please contact your local librarian.

5. Will I still be able to get the paper version? And for how long?

   Yes, individuals and institutions will continue to be able to receive the paper version.

6. Who is eligible for an Individual (Non-Member) and a Member Subscription?

   Individual (Non-Member) subscriptions are available to individuals, providing them with a paper and electronic version of the journal. ACOG Members are eligible for Member Subscriptions to Obstetrics & Gynecology, providing them with a paper and electronic version of the journal. Members and Non-Members may also have access to Obstetrics & Gynecology Online through an Institutional Subscription. Institutional Subscriptions are somewhat more limited than Member Subscriptions. The special member services are not available to non-member subscribers, and full-text access from off the institution's network (e.g. home access) is not available. ACOG Members are the only individuals who can receive an electronic only subscription to Obstetrics & Gynecology Online.

7. How can I access Obstetrics & Gynecology Online if I am not an ACOG member and I don't have access through an institutional subscription?

   You may wish to apply for ACOG membership or purchase an Individual (Non-Member) print subscription, which provides access to the electronic version. Without a subscription you can access tables of contents, abstracts, and full text searching (without full text viewing) at no cost and without needing to register.
