Obstetrics & Gynecology is the official publication of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG). Popularly known as "The Green Journal," Obstetrics & Gynecology has been published since 1953. Then as is now, the goal of the journal is to promote excellence in the clinical practice of obstetrics and gynecology and closely related fields.

Embargo
All studies and official ACOG documents are embargoed until 12:01 AM EST of the last day of the month preceding the official date of publication. The embargo is rigidly enforced. ACOG staff may not release or discuss with outside parties any upcoming studies or ACOG documents prior to the embargo. This includes verification that said documents indeed are being released. About the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists
2001 marked the 50th Anniversary of The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Founded in 1951 in Chicago, Illinois, ACOG today has over 45,000 members and is the nation's leading group of professionals providing health care for women. Now based in Washington, DC, it is a private, voluntary, nonprofit membership organization.
