Exudative Ascites Produced by Pelvic Inflammatory Disease

Abstract

A case is reported in which massive ascites was found in a woman with intrauterine device–related pelvic inflammatory disease. The patient underwent exploratory laparotomy, and extirpation of the pelvic organs resulted in resolution of the ascites. (Obstet Gynecol 61:54S, 1983)
