Plasma fibrinogen is known to be elevated in pregnancy and with certain disease processes. This report establishes norms at 2-week intervals throughout pregnancy. A calculated slope by trimester reveals a more rapid elevation during the first trimester. A thrombin clottable method that is rapid and accurate is evaluated.
