TOPICAL ANESTHESIA OF THE UTERINE CERVIX OR CORPUS

A potent topical anesthetic drug, 1% telracaine, and a placebo were evaluated in a "double-blind" study to determine whether or not topical anesthesia could be achieved on the exocervix, endocervix, and endocenix cavity. No anesthetic effect of lelracaine was demonstrated.
