Johx A. Morris, MD. FACOG

From the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Charles R. Drew Postgraduate Medical School, 12021 South Wilmington Avenue, Los Angeles. California.

There were 2660 therapeutic abortions done by vacuum curettage at Kansas University Medical Center during a 16-month interval, and 104 of these patients were sterilized by vaginal tubal ligation at the time of abortion. Ninety-six (92%) of these patients were discharged either the day of surgery or the next morning. The incidence of technical complications was negligible.
