A case of supraventricular fetal arrhythmia which persisted beyond the neonatal period is presented. This arrhythmia, first discovered during labor, was characterized by supraventricular premature beats interspersed with paroxysms of tachycardia. Simultaneous recordings of fetal heart rate and fetal electrocardiogram during labor permitted accurate diagnosis of this apparently benign arrhythmia. Neonatal heart rate and EKG recordings were identical to those obtained in utero.
