A special clinic was established lo provide counseling and contraceptive information for teenagers as part of the Wayne Stale University Medical School program. During the first 14 months, 1985 girls and boys were seen; most of them had been sexually active for more than 13 months. Of these patients, 18% were pregnant, 2% had positive cervical cytology, none had syphilis, 1 had chancroid and 1 gonorrhea. The dropout rate was only 2.5%. Guidelines for operation of the clinic were established by a "Teenage Advisory Board."
