Abstract

A mother with an undiagnosed and relatively small lesion of pulmonary tuberculosis was delivered of a premature infant that was clinically well at birth. Subsequently, a diagnosis of tuberculous endometritis was established by both culture and curettage. The infant became febrile at 22 days of age and ultimately responded to antituberculosis therapy; the diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis was confirmed by gastric cultures.
