Abstract
A case of gonadoblastoma associated with embryonal carcinoma, occurring in a 17-year-old, chromatin negative phenotypic female is presented. The patient died 4
months after the excision of the ovarian tumor. Review of the literature shows that in approximately 10% of cases gonadoblastoma is associated with the more malignant germ cell neoplasms. The prognosis in these cases has been poor, none of the patients having survived longer than 18 months. The malignant potential of gonadoblastoma is emphasized and full investigation and adequate treatment are recommended.
