A single case of basal cell carcinoma arising in one of two bilateral benign cystic teratormos (dermoid cysts) of the ovary is reported here as an exceptionally uncommon neoplasm. A left salpingo-oophorectomy and subsequent excision of two smaller cysts of the right ovary were performed. Although the prognosis for basal cell carcinomas of the skin is excellent, the scarcity of cases originating in ovarian teratomas reported in the literature precludes decisive prediction of the outcome in this case.
