PYOMETRA PRESENTING AS FEVER OF UNKNOWN ORIGIN

A patient with pyometra presented with fever of unknown origin and died without the abscess having been recognized. The etiology and diagnosis of pyometra, a novel cause of fever of unknown origin, are discussed.
