Incidence of placenta previa in patients referred for suspicion of the condition was 11% (28 of 254). Of the 28 patients who had placenta previa, 17 were diagnosed outright, in 8 others the degree was underestimated, and in 3 it was totally missed. False positive diagnosis of previa was made in 10 of 226 patients (4.4%).
