The concomitant phenomenon of a third trimester pregnancy and uterine prolapse is an infrequent obstetric finding. Two hundred and ninety-five cases have been reported to date. This paper reviews the clinical complications of infection, abortion, and prematurity and the ultimate mode of delivery. We add our own case report in which successful delivery was expedited with the use of the vacuum extractor, a modality heretofore not reported.
