Prostaglandin F2
was infused into 13 nonpregnant volunteers at a rate of 50 µg/minute for 8 hours. Ten subjects had a shortened Iuteal phase. Nine subjects had decreased progesterone values at 8 hours, ranging from 23.5 to 69.8% of baseline values. No consistent changes in plasma estradiol or estrone were noted. The significance of these findings is discussed.
