Abstract

Thirty-eight patients who failed in conceive with clomiphene therapy were treated with a combination of clomiphene and ethinyl estradiol. The pattern of the cycle was similar in both types of therapy (clomiphene alone and clomiphene combined with estrogen). The combined therapy induced pregnancy in 23.7% of patients who failed to conceive when treated with clomiphene alone. When cases of mechanical or male infertility were excluded, the pregnancy rate increased to 28.6%.
