Abstract
Five pregnancies in 58 women of reproductive age who had received renal transplants are described. There was 1 spontaneous abortion, 1 premature delivery and 3 term deliveries. One of the term deliveries was associated with spontaneous uterine rupture. Prednisone (used as an immunosuppressive agent) may have contributed to uterine rupture in a 40-year-old grand multipara who had tumultous labor. The 4 infants weighed 2610, 1793, 2523 and 2640 g at birth and all were free from detectable anomalies.
