Abstract
The effect of cold injury to the rabbit endometrium and the ability of the epithelium to regenerate was studied. The extent of injury to the uterine layers by cryosurgery was more extensive than that produced by curettage. The process of regeneration was delayed, as compared to the rapid regeneration of endometrium after curettage under different hormonal conditions. The application of cryosurgery to the treatment of intrauterine disorders and as a method for sterilization is discussed.
