Placental Lesion in Viral Hepatitis

Abstract

Two case reports are presented in which normal offspring were delivered to mothers with viral hepatitis. The placental lesion comprised extensive bilirubin pigment deposition throughout membranes and villous tissue. The problem of viral transmission is briefly discussed.
