Abstract

Investigations using PGF2a, for therapeutic abortion are currently in progress in several centers. This case report describes an asthmatic attack during intravenous administration of PGF2a, to a patient with a history of bronchial asthma. Moderately severe bronchoconstriction was noted clinically during infusion of 200 µg/min. The symptoms cleared rapidly soon after the drug was discontinued. The literature on respiratory effects of prostaglandins is reviewed.
