From the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Yale-New Haven Hospital, 789 Howard Avenue, New Haven, Conn 06504.
Abstract
Pregnancy is possible but hazardous for women with cystic fibrosis (CF). The obstetric care of the patient presented was complicated by pneumonia, premature labor, hypotension and abruptio placentae. Therapeutic abortion is advised to preserve maternal health in selected cases. Contraceptive counseling is urged for girls with CF who reach menarche.
