Carcinoma of the Urachus

A Case Report and Review

DONALD RUBELL, MD and ROBERT F. PORGES, MD, FACOG

From the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, New York University, School of Medicine, Sept 1971.

Abstract

Vaginal bleeding was the only presenting symptom in a patient with adenocarcinoma of the urachus. This case report is presented along with a review of the literature and the embryology and anatomy involved. Special emphasis is placed on the poor prognosis of these tumors and the lack of a uniform mode of therapy.
