Abstract
The association of a "primary" genital herpes virus infection and microinvasive keratinizing squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix is illustrated by a patient who demonstrated both of these diseases in histopathologic specimens from a cone biopsy. The lack of knowledge regarding some basic facts relating to herpes virus infection of the uterine cervix is discussed.
