COMPRESSION IN OPERATIVE GYNECOLOGY

The surgical principle of compressing rather than crushing tissue to be ligated is illustrated. Examples are cited to show its application in operations for the incompetent cervix, urinary incontinence, and total abdominal hysterectomy.
