Hemangioma of the Placenta Associated with Fetal Anemia and Edema

Abstract

Hemangioma of the placenta associated with hydrops fetalis, severe anemia, and hypoproteinemia in the absence of blood incompatibility and fetomaternal transfusion is reported. Similarities to changes resulting from erythroblastosis fetalis are described and the pathogenesis of hydrops discussed.
