Abstract

Acute poststreptococcal glomerulonephritis during pregnancy is rare. Its occurrence in a gravida, who subsequently gave birth to a healthy infant, is described. The diagnosis was supported by serial renal-biopsy findings consistent with such nephritis. The renal tissue, studied by both light and electron microscopy, showed the glomerular lesions to be different from those of preeclampsia.
