Abstract
Diazepam has been shown not to affect the course of labor adversely. Its propensity to permit reduction in dosage requirement of sedativeanalgesic agents is a useful characteristic, resulting in somewhat more efficient labor progression. Labors conducted with diazepam are relatively unimpeded by inhibitory effects of sedation.
