Splenic Rupture in Pregnancy

Report of a Case

SUMMARYA report of a case of spontaneous rupture of the spleen during pregnancy is presented. The etiologic factor contributing to the rupture was thought ot be a virus infection, with this same infection resulting in maternal death. The subject was brought up to date by reviewing the literature since 1958.
